Breast Augmentation Bargains Although low cost breast implants and augmentation surgery may be enticing, finding a cheap breast augmentation quote should not be the primary goal when selecting a cosmetic surgeon. There are several reasons why choosing a surgeon who offers breast augmentation prices at a dramatically reduced cost can be a bad decision. Most importantly, there is some truth to the saying, “you get what you pay for." Choosing a surgeon based on fees instead of credentials can leave you with less than satisfactory results. The ideal surgeon is one who is board certified, experienced, and professional. The patient should feel that the surgeon is paying attention to her opinions and concerns and will put her best interests first. In most cases, this type of surgeon does not have to offer discounts to attract patients.
In addition, it is important to always read the fine print. Often, advertised breast augmentation prices are only a portion of the costs that will be required to be paid. They may include the surgeon's fee, for example, but leave out the costs of anesthesia, the surgical facility, or even the breast implant cost. Patients should be suspicious of any prices that seem too good to be true.
High breast augmentation prices do not guarantee the best or highest quality results. Patients should not choose a surgeon based on a high fee any more than they should choose one based on a low fee. The most important factors in selecting the cosmetic surgeon should be education, experience, board certification, and the ability to feel comfortable with that person.
